The recently concluded Adobe MAX conference revealed an upcoming new application in its prototype stages that is a quick and easy solution to applying your own customizations to create new typefaces that best suit your projects.
The program, called ‘Project Face’, offers a series of sliders for you to adjust the weight, crossbar and contrast, among others, alongside a collection of artful effects to help you design and achieve a stunning variety of typographic styles.

Adobe Project Face VS Prototypo
So the above video from the recently concluded Adobe MAX conference, and yes, the app looks amazing. The thing is - there’s this other project backed on kickstarter some time last year - Prototypo - which is, well, I have to say, MORE amazing then what they’ve shown about Project Face. The key difference being the “Effects” panel, which, frankly, as a type designer, is the least of my concerns.
This is Prototypo.Though it’s not yet available on the mobil platforms, but, frankly, I don’t think that makes a very big difference for me.
That said, Project Face is just in its infancy. Let’s wait and see what the end product is like, shall we?
